Should doctors help terminally ill patients to die?
This is one dilemma that is eternal to present day humans;
how to die and when to die, aided or unaided;
some may know why and others may deny.
One unknown is this: do the terminally ill person really suffer;
patients in good palliative care do not appear to be,
they rather look like they are resigned to their fate,
come what may, their wish is not to burden their loved ones.
An important point is: who are the ones who really suffer,
the patient or the burden bearers; who pays more,
the dying or the ones who have to care and pay.
Assuming a situation where the dying is in good hands
and no financial disaster comes about whatsoever,
this question will not arise at all,
and the living may continue to wish the dying a longerer life.
The question may then be answered by:
why do people accumulate and hoard money to no end ?
