Oh ! Suzanna

Good morning,

Oh ! Suzanna

When one reminisces about the old old Western movies by John Ford, or his contemporaries, one remembers the famous actor Randolf Scott and others. One will also remember some classic songs like Clementine and Oh ! Suzanna. And there would be this other famous actor Gaby Hayes, such a likable lovable wizened fellow playing his little harmonica to these tunes as the rickety horse-driven wagon rolled along.

To refresh ourselves, I append below the lyrics of Oh ! Suzanna. I have also put in some pictures from National Geographic and added a song sung by the Children's choir from the Best Favourite Nursery Rhymes and Children's songs CD into a show. The singing of the song has been varied a bit, but the words in the slides follow the singing. This show attempts to perform like a Karaoke clip, and I hope it will serve its purpose to enliven ourselves to the good old days.

Jenny, this is my apple for you, as best I can.

Have a nice day.
Ronald

Oh ! Suzanna

I came from Alabama
With my banjo on my knee
I'm going to Louisiana,
My true love for to see

It rained all night
The day I left
The weather it was dry
The sun so hot,
I froze to death
Susanna, don't you cry

Oh, Susanna,
Oh don't you cry for me
I've come from Alabama
With my banjo on my knee

I came from Alabama
With my banjo on my knee
I'm going to Louisiana,
My true love for to see

It rained all night
The day I left
The weather it was dry
The sun so hot,
I froze to death
Susanna, don't you cry

Oh, Susanna,
Oh don't you cry for me
I've come from Alabama
With my banjo on my knee
