AS CERTAIN
To ASSUME is to make an ASS of U and ME.
This is wellknown.
To ASCERTAIN is to be AS CERTAIN .
Subordinates who shy away from ascertaining with their boss miss something.
To do it is a win-win ploy.
If things go wrong, the boss had been informed.
If things go right they still get the credit.
So, why risk and make asses of both ?
