Holy Family

Hi,

Golden anniversaries, diamond anniversaries and .....

On 31 December 2006, a Sunday, Catholics celebrated the Feast of The Holy Family, the family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph. At the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour in Frankel Estate, Upper Changi Road, fifty five couples reaffirmed their marriage vows. Among them were four couples celebrating their post golden anniversaries, having stayed married for more thanfifty three, fifty four or fifty five years as they had done .

When the priest asked them about their trials and tribulations in married life extemporarily, their answers were slow in coming. It was very plain to see that these couples manage their marriage easily by deeds than by words. However their common answers were that when quarrels arise keep quiet. This was from people who stayed married come what may for over half a century. Certainly they had their fair share of problems, but more certain is that they have their ways to sail along on moonlight bay.

In the study of science there is an experiment on magnetism. Putting two bars of magnets together does not always give the same results. The two bars will stick together or move apart depending on how they are aligned, following the simple rule like poles repel, unlike poles attract. That is, the magnets will attach when their north and south poles are together, whereas they will repel when their like poles are near each other.

Putting two people together can have the analogous result like the magnets, but in a reverse way. Bring out their common likes they will share their lives; bring out issues that get them into conflict, what else can follow.

Magnets, magnets, inert you are with your power,
kindle your love, you are inseparable.
Magnets, magnets, with your latent fickleness,
change your state and none can bring you together.

Have a nice day
Ronald
