Cut and Paste, also Copy.
Selecting the text
Left click the mouse button at the beginning of the text desired, and keeping the left mouse button pressed, drag the mouse to the choice of the rest of the text. Notice the text turning blue, selected. Release the left mouse button and the text will remain selected.
Select as little or as much text as required to cut or copy. You can select text from top to bottom, bottom to top, left to right, or right to left, by keeping the button pressed and drag it along.
Cutting or Copying the selected text
Right click the mouse button and see the pop-up to pick the choice of Cut, Copy, Paste . Left click Copy or Cut as desired and the text will be remembered by the computer for further action.
Selecting the desired location to paste the text
Left click at the place where the text is to be inserted, then just right click to see the pop-up again, and then left click Paste as desired; and the selected text will be pasted there. Done.
Note: You can also copy and paste pictures or images in the same way, treating the image like text.
Using keys instead of clicking the mouse
To Cut, press the keys Ctrl & C simultaneously,
to Copy press Ctrl & V simultaneously,
to Paste press Ctrl & B simultaneously.
Cut will remove the text to be copied from,
Copy will not remove the text to be copied from,
and Paste will just paste what had been selected, thereon.
Note: Cut and Paste can only be done to your own work, whereas you can Copy from elsewhere (except from pdf files, a type of protected file.)
Happy gathering.
