JESUS

Jesus ... who, what ?

Jesus lived on earth. He was born of the Virgin Mary who was betrothed to Joseph.
All events in history are dated BC or AD,
the former is before Birth of Jesus Christ and the latter is Anno Domini or Year of our Lord.
We are thus living in the 2012th. year reckoned from the birth of Jesus Christ.

Events concerning Jesus are recorded in The Holy Bible.
This bible consists of three parts: The Old Testament, The New Testament and The Acts of the Apostles.
The first is about events that happened before Jesus was born,
the second is about the life of Jesus,
and the third is about what his disciples did to carry on his ministry.

The Old Testament tells about God - His almightiness, His omniscience and His omnipresence.
The Old Testament is a collection of many books written in different languages by different authors living in different periods.
The writings by these authors tell of the creation of the world and the relationship between God and man.
During those times God communicated with the people through his angels, his prophets and directly;
and what the prophets foretold came to manifest themselves in time to follow.
Jesus' coming was foretold, and many of the events in it were made into classic movies.

The New Testament tells about the life of Jesus - how he came on earth, how he lived, what he taught and what people did to him.
During his life Jesus showed his divinity - he cured the sick, cleansed the lepers, drove out unclean spirits from those possessed by them.
He restored the blind their sight, the dumb their speech and the lame their mobility.
He walked on water, raised the dead to life and multiplied food to feed those who were hungry.
Jesus taught the people how to live; and Jesus taught his disciples through parables.
Jesus emphatically taught his disciples to love one another,
he highlighted the insincerity of the ruling teachers and told of the difficulty for the rich to attain salvation.
Jesus called himself the Son of Man and he taught the people about forgiveness.
Many of the happenings about Jesus were foretold in The Old Testament.

The Acts of the Apostles is about Jesus' apostles and disciples
who went on to carry on his mission and how they traversed the territories.
These disciples taught and explained about the new life that Jesus began.

The Holy Bible is the most printed and widely owned book in the world.
Many quotations are attributed to the text in it, some are correctly done while others are not.
This is one book everyone should read to know what is true and what is not,
and particularly about why there is conflict between religions.
Why is Jesus called Jesus Christ ?

All these besides learning about a great philosophy and knowing what is life ?.
