Alone but not Lonely
Sitting on the rocks by
the beach
I was alone but I was
not lonely
Small flat crabs darted
to and fro
Colours green shiny carapace
Small birds returned to
roost
Noisy bats fluttered
out to feed
The dusk dimmed the
ships lighted up
The day was ending the night
began
The breeze gently blew
my face
The moon edged above
the water
Stars began to twinkle oh
so clear
It was quiet calm and
peaceful
My harmonica played a
tune
Sweet memories of years
gone by
There were friends and
all sincere
Fond goodbyes and auld
lang syne
